Derek was disobedient growing up, he eventually attended high school, becoming a semi-popular teenager as he attended David Hiles' classes.
Family Matters[]
Derek is told by Hiles to finish up his school work, refusing to follow his orders, he's told to stay after class. Hines then kidnaps him and attempts to turn him into a human bomb before being stopped by Invincible.
He later returns to high school. Later one night he decides to piss on the grave of Hines.
